If you have a solution of KNO3 and K2(SO4) what would be the best way to separate them. Both have similar solubilities at low temp.
My best idea was to heat the solution and boil off water until all the K2(SO4) precipitates out because it is much less soluble at 100C.
The problem I have at that point is that the solution is saturated with KNO3 and when I try to filter it, as soon as the solution hits the filter paper it crystallizes.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
