What does turnitin check against
Is it so smart that we, students, don't stand a chance against it? How does this thing even work to catch us in the act? The general idea behind Turnitin was to check for matching text that is not original and is in any way plagiarized. Turnitin maintains a comparison database that is comprised of: in terms of academic integrity is realized when students perform their own originality check. It is important to realize that the Similarity Index is NOT a "plagiarism index" – there is no score that is inherently "good" or "bad". 0% does not.
